Fiesta Friday

When moving on the journey to eat more plants, folks can run into the challenge of not losing a single pound in the first month. Sometimes they even experience a little bit of gain. WHAT?

Our bodies are so very intelligently designed. When we do a shift, our bodies give us the "hey ... what's up with that?" and those little cells meant to protect you say to themselves "I'm holding onto stuff. We must be in trouble". Your body means well.

Our - well, my - natural response is to want to throw it out the window. But there is another option. There is a way to thank our bodies for the wisdom built into our DNA and that is to rest.

Rest from measuring yourself. Rest from brain games. Rest from feeling like a failure. Your not. It's just time to rest.

On this fabulous Friday let your heart celebrate the fiesta that is God's heart for you. Let's rest together. You've got a golden ticket - a personalized invitation to rest. Here's where you find that:

“Work is to be done on six days; but the seventh day (Friday sundown to Saturday sundown) is a Shabbat of complete rest, a holy convocation; you are not to do any kind of work; it is a Shabbat for Adonai, even in your homes.https://my.bible.com/bible/1275/LEV.23.3.CJB

Lord, help us to rest. Not just slow down. Not just do a drive by. But truly allow our hearts, minds and bodies to breath deep and relax in the knowledge that You are good and rest is for our good. Thank you for Jesus who walked and talked as an inspiration and example of sabbath rest. For Thine is the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Dear friend, whatever is bubbling for you -- success, at goal weight, good health, challenges, feeling isolated at failure or starting again ... embrace rest. Enjoy some plants and get some rest.
